The Department of Chemistry started in the year 2005. Since then, the Department is known for its innovative way of teaching Chemistry courses to students of College. Since 2022 The Department Has been Imparting 4 year FYUGP Under NEP 2020. The department is also involved in conducting extracurricular activities like- Quiz, essay writing, speech and workshop and related activities.
The Chemistry Department aims to be recognized for academic excellence through the depth of teaching, innovative ideological practices, and research and has worked towards becoming a center for advanced study in the various fields of Chemistry.
A graduate student in B.Sc.(Hons.) Chemistry from the college can pursue academic courses like B. Ed. and P.G. Courses like M. Sc. or M.S., followed by M. Phil. or Ph.D. Thus they can find a promising career in the field of Research or Teaching. The students can also explore areas like actuarial sciences, banking, civil services etc.
